Alliance with Balðrsfolk
One of the founding principles of Balðrsfolk is unity. We believe the modern Norse pagan community is strongest when kindreds, clans, tribes, hearths, and independent practitioners work together rather than apart.
For that reason, we proudly welcome alliances with other like-minded communities who share our commitment to respect, education, and fellowship.
An alliance with Balðrsfolk is not about giving up your identity or placing one community above another. Your kindred or clan remains your own, with its own leadership, traditions, and way of practising. Our aim is simply to build friendships, encourage cooperation, and create stronger connections across the wider Norse pagan community.
As allied communities, we welcome your members into the Balðrsfolk Facebook page and community chats, where they can take part in discussions, learning sessions, social events, and community activities. Likewise, we are happy to engage with your community, support your events where possible, and build meaningful relationships between our members.
Our administration, learning, and spiritual teams are also available to offer guidance and support should your leadership ever wish to seek advice, discuss ideas, collaborate on educational projects, or simply share knowledge and experience. We believe that by helping one another, every community grows stronger.
Above all, an alliance is built on mutual respect, trust, and cooperation. We are not seeking to replace or absorb other communities - we are building bridges between them, creating a wider network where Norse pagans can learn from one another, support one another, and stand together.
Our door, and our hearth, are always open.
Additional Rules & Etiquette for Alliances
An alliance with Balðrsfolk is built upon frith, mutual respect, honesty, and cooperation. These guidelines exist to protect every community involved and to ensure that all allied groups can work together in a spirit of friendship.
Frith Comes First, All allied communities are expected to uphold frith while participating within Balðrsfolk.
Arguments, personal attacks, hostility, harassment, or bringing disputes from other communities into Balðrsfolk are not permitted. If disagreements arise between members of different clans, kindreds, tribes, or organisations, they must be resolved privately between the appropriate leaders. Public disputes within Balðrsfolk damage the wider community and will not be tolerated.
Anyone who deliberately breaks frith within our community will be removed and discussions will take place between leadership teams.
Alliances Are Mutual, An alliance exists only through the agreement of both communities. Neither party is obligated to remain in an alliance if they feel it is no longer beneficial or if trust has broken down. Balðrsfolk reserves the right to suspend or end an alliance where repeated breaches of these guidelines occur or where continued cooperation is no longer possible.
No Recruitment, Balðrsfolk is a shared community, not a recruitment platform.
Members of allied communities are welcome to participate fully within our page and chats, but using Balðrsfolk to actively recruit members away from our community or other allied communities is not permitted. Likewise, Balðrsfolk will not use alliance spaces to recruit members from your community. We believe alliances should strengthen communities, not compete for members.
Respect Each Community's Independence, Every clan, kindred, tribe, hearth, or organisation has its own customs, leadership, and traditions. An alliance does not give either community authority over the other. Members should respect differences in practice and recognise that there is more than one way to walk the Norse path.
Represent Your Community Well, When visiting Balðrsfolk, members are ambassadors for their own community.
We ask that everyone conducts themselves with courtesy, honesty, and respect, recognising that their behaviour reflects not only upon themselves but also upon the community they represent.
Constructive Collaboration, We encourage allied communities to work together through:
Educational discussions.
Joint learning sessions.
Community events.
Seasonal celebrations.
Shared historical research.
Friendly visits between communities.
Supporting one another when guidance or advice is requested.
Our goal is cooperation, not competition.
Support Between Leaders, Balðrsfolk is always happy to support the leadership of allied communities where appropriate.
Whether that involves historical research, educational resources, moderation advice, event planning, or simply discussing ideas, we believe leaders become stronger by learning from one another.
Open Communication, If concerns arise between allied communities, they should be raised directly with the relevant leadership teams before becoming public matters. Clear, respectful communication resolves far more than assumption or gossip ever will.
We Build Bridges, Not Wall. The purpose of our alliance programme is simple: to unite rather than divide.
We hope to create lasting friendships between Norse pagan communities around the world, allowing knowledge, experience, and fellowship to be shared freely while respecting each community's individuality.
Together, we strengthen the wider Norse pagan community.
Together, we uphold frith.
Together, we keep the hearth burning.
